Dean Polales has more than four decades of experience practicing law. He has focused his career on trying jury and bench trials, handling white-collar criminal cases, government enforcement actions and investigations, as well as commercial litigation. 

Among the many successful cases Dean has handled, he has represented numerous clients in federal grand jury investigations involving allegations of theft of trade secrets, unlawful access to stored electronic communications, public corruption, mail, wire and securities fraud and other financial crimes. He has also successfully represented a large corporate entity in a Commodities Futures Trading Commission investigation, conducted internal investigations and represented health care providers in false claims act investigations, provided counsel to a securities exchange in connection with computer and internet issues, and represented a real estate development company in a corporate dissolution case that resulted in the dismissal of the case.

A former member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, Dean was recognized as the 2020 and 2022 “Lawyer of the Year” award recipient for his work in Criminal Defense: General Practice in Chicago by Best Lawyers®, a recognition limited to only one lawyer in each practice area and community.

Dean holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and is licensed in Illinois.
