Jake Mihm concentrates his practice in general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on complex insurance coverage litigation. Jake has extensive experience representing policyholders throughout the country ranging from Fortune 500 companies, to municipalities and private mid-size companies in insurance coverage matters implicating CGL, D & O, E & O, business interruption, property damage, and other coverages. The positive outcome of Jake’s work has resulted in insurers paying out hundreds of millions of dollars to cover defense and indemnity for many types of claims, including environmental, asbestos, talc, and other types of claims.

For example, Jake acted as trial and appellate counsel for a mining and chemical company in a landmark insurance coverage trial held over a two-year period against dozens of insurance companies. The case ultimately made its way to the Connecticut Supreme Court, where Jake argued many of the key issues before the court. Law360® listed the Connecticut Supreme Court’s policyholder-friendly decision among four of “The Biggest Property & Casualty Rulings of 2019.”
